Zachary Bohlin
Computer Science major, and I love to program. It's my job, and a hobby. I've developed apps for Android, Windows 10, the web, and Xbox. Most of them are games, but a few I made simply because I needed an app that would do something to make my life easier. I'm also starting to dabble in the Raspberry Pi, but you can check out my projects page to find out more about that. Not only do I program, but I enjoy teaching about programming as well. Led a class of freshman in college as a junior, and I teach 3rd-5th graders how to code on Scratch once a year. I just wish one of my brothers enjoyed coding too...
I'm an avid hiker traveler. Iceland, Norway, Germany, Peru, Mexico, Canada (BANFF, Niagara, Whistler, Blackcomb), Switzerland, and hoping one day to get down to Antarctica and see some penguins. Hiking is the best part of traveling if you ask me, and the trips I've been on so far show it (especially Norway. That one was a doozy). If you want to see some pictures and hear about some of the travels I've done, head on over to my travel page.
Outside of hiking and programming, which I felt deserved it's own section, you can find me doing many different things, typically outdoors if the weather permits. Everywhere from camping, to gaming at home, to completing a tough mudder with friends, I have a lot of hobbies that I do. I grew up in a very active household, right across the street from lifelong friends around my age where we laughed, cried (mainly my younger brother), built forts, and played backyard football. I put some of my more interesting hobbies/activities on my hobbies page.
Well, kind of. It all started when I began playing piano at a young age. That brought me to the violin, and then guitar. This lead me to 3 mildly unsuccessful bands, the writing of a myriad of lyrically inept songs (although some might say my parodies turned out a notch above "OK"), and the composing of some less than harmonious music. With that career behind me, the future is bright with my 6 months of singing lessons, and a guitar that I can play to some extent, which I do enjoy busting out every now and then when I go camping. Maybe I'll go back to rapping.
